US ends import duties on HRC from Brazil and Japan
The US International Trade Commission has voted to discontinue import duties on hotrolled coil shipments from Brazil and Japan that had been on the books for over 10 years, Steel Business Briefing reports. US mills plan to appeal the decision.
The ITC, as part of the second sunset review of the duties, voted four to two that revoking the countervailing duty order on HR from Brazil and the antidumping duty orders on the imports from Brazil and Japan would not likely lead to the continuation or recurrence of material injury to US producers.
